“If God is the only one, why does the Bible speak of ‘two gods’?”
In Hebrews 5 of the Bible, we read the following:
“For though by this time you ought to be teachers… you have come to depend on milk and not on solid food.”
(Hebrews 5:12-14)
Are you a novice believer who only drinks ‘milk’?
Or are you a mature believer who can digest ‘solid food’?
Today, we will discuss one of the ‘solid food’ the Bible speaks of, the ‘two gods.’
The two gods are the Holy Spirit of God and the evil spirit of Satan.
God is the source of life, truth, and light,
while Satan is the one who causes lies, delusion, darkness, and death.
However, the surprising fact is that these two gods are active not only in the spiritual world,
but also in our reality right now.
Many people ask this question.
“If God is omnipotent, why did he create Satan?”
However, according to the Bible, Satan was not created by God himself,
but was the result of one of the angels God created becoming arrogant and falling.
📖 According to Ezekiel 28 and Isaiah 14,
he was an archangel, but he overtook God’s position with arrogance and greed,
and eventually fell and became Satan.
It is important to note that these two gods are active in the church today.
“Satan sits in the temple of God, showing himself as God and doing his work.”
(2 Thessalonians 2:4)
That is why Jesus also said:
“Satan himself disguises himself as an angel of light.”
(2 Corinthians 11:14)
In other words, you cannot know who is true just by looking at their appearance.
You must discern whether the ‘word that comes out of their mouth’,
or the spirit that belongs to God, is a spirit.
So what should we do?
1 John 4:1 says:
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God.”
We are not automatically saved by going to church.
When we hear the word of the true God,
and live by it,
we can become children of God.
