Revelation 21 Who can enter the holy city, New Jerusalem?

Those who enter the holy city, New Jerusalem: The sealed 144,000 and the white multitude

  1. Revelation 6: The apostasy and judgment of the first tabernacle
Revelation 6 is a scene where some of the first tabernacle, that is, the people chosen by God, apostatize and are ultimately judged as Jesus opens the seal.

The judgment of the four horses, from the white horse to the pale horse

The lamentation of the martyrs in the fifth seal

The sun, moon, and stars fall in the sixth seal, the sky departs, and the mountains and islands are moved

All of these scenes symbolize the end of the heavenly tabernacle temple.
The sun, moon, and stars are celestial bodies that symbolize Jacob’s family, God’s chosen people, in Genesis 37:9-11.
The fact that they fell means that they apostatized from God,
and as a result, the first tabernacle ends and they are judged.

  1. Revelation 7: The Creation of the Sealed 144,000 and the Great White Crowd
Now, instead of the chosen people who apostatized and were judged, God creates a new chosen people.
    This scene is Revelation 7.

⬛ 1) The Sealed 144,000
12,000 from each of the 12 tribes, a total of 144,000 people, receive the seal of God on their foreheads.

The seal is not just a mark, but the word of God written on their foreheads (Deut. 6:6-8, Heb. 8:10),
in other words, they are those who engrave the revealed word in their hearts and believe.

They become the new chosen people of the kingdom of God, the pillars of the New Jerusalem.

⬛ 2) The White Crowd
These are “people from every nation, tribe, people, and language” (Rev. 7:9),
who heard the testimony of the 144,000 and washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and made them white.

They are the saved crowd who heard the revelation through the 144,000 singing a new song in Revelation 14 and came forward.

They are the ones who stand before the throne of God in the New Jerusalem and serve God forever.

  1. Revelation 14: The 144,000 standing on Mount Zion, God’s mountain
Revelation 14 says that the sealed 144,000 stand on Mount Zion of God.

“Then I looked, and lo, the Lamb was standing on Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand…” (Rev. 14:1)

Mount Zion is the place where God’s presence is, the holy city.

Unlike the chosen people who apostatized in Revelation 6, these 144,000 are those who heard and kept the revealed word.

They are those who do not lie in their mouths and are blameless, in other words, they are the pure ones who live in the word of God.

These 144,000 are the foundation stones of the holy city, New Jerusalem, members of the twelve tribes, and entities connected to the twelve foundation stones in Revelation 21.

  1. Revelation 21: New Heaven and New Earth, New Jerusalem
In Revelation 21, the first heaven and earth, that is, the first tabernacle that disappeared in Revelation 6, disappears,
and now the new heaven and new earth, that is, the kingdom of God, consisting of the 144,000 and the white multitude created in Revelation 7, appears.

▫ Where did the “New Jerusalem” come from? “Coming down from heaven from God…” (Rev. 21:2)

This is the real community established by the word of heaven, the revelation of Jesus (Rev. 1:1), fulfilled on this earth.

In other words, it is the real church created according to the word, fulfilling the prophecy.

  1. Those who see, hear, believe, and come forward in the reality of the revealed word
Those who enter the holy city are not mere church members,
but those who see, hear, and keep this prophecy and its reality, as in Revelation 22:8-9.

“I, John, am the one who saw and heard these things…” (Rev. 22:8)
“Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book” (Rev. 22:7)

The same is true today.

Those who see the reality of the place, people, and events where the prophecy was fulfilled

and hear the evidence

and wash their robes in the blood of the Lamb (receiving their sins washed by the word)

and receive the seal of God

These are the citizens of the New Jerusalem.
